3: Chiaroscuro (forthcoming)

The term ‘Chiaroscuro’ derives from the Italian words ‘chiara’ – light, and ‘oscuro’ – shadow. It requires a sophisticated level of cutting and interpretation of the subject. This type of print was originally made as a woodcut in the sixteenth century.
